Our Researchers

What We Do

Our Centre brings together a set of highly experienced, mid-career, and early-career researchers, with proven track-records, to address the real-world dual challenge of mass biodiversity loss and climate change. We combine world-leading expertise in ecological science, biodiversity conservation, sustainability science, geography, law, economics, psychology, statistical and systems modelling, and a broad range of social science domains covering governance, knowledge, political science, change, and culture.

Most Chief Investigators and Partner Investigators have long-standing track-records in collaborating, evidenced by joint publications, grants, and shared student supervisions. The research and work we seek to advance as a Centre builds on several years of joint activity under the Centre of Excellence for Environmental Decisions, and the NESP Threatened Species Recovery Hub. Learn more about our collaborations here.

Through the community the Centre offers, our active research network includes several long-standing industry partner agencies, companies and NGOs that can advance key concerns and research agendas using our expanded disciplinary scope and strong emphasis on social science and economics.
