Centre for Nature-Positive Climate Transitions

A major societal transition is underway to reduce emissions and adapt to the reality of unavoidable climate change. CENPCT is a team of research collaborators who identify climate transition pathways with partners, that are good for nature and people.

Welcome to CENPCT

The Centre will focus on solving real-world climate transition challenges, including project design for renewable energy and critical minerals, nature-positive carbon sequestration, and nature-based climate adaptation and disaster mitigation in urban and regional landscapes.

The Centre is designed to build on the experience of previous successful, high-impact collaborations between researchers and partner organisations. Supported by a sophisticated knowledge-brokering and communications program, the Centre seeks to work collaboratively with our partners to find, map, develop and promote nature-positive transformations for three critical climate transitions: energy, urban, and landscape. We aim to address these transitions through three innovation themes – futures thinking, understanding and predicting, and transition pathways.

The Centre for Nature-Positive Climate Transitions (CENPCT) is a team of researchers, scholars, industry experts and partners who have strong track records of locally collaborating to generate solutions to climate and biodiversity challenges. CENPCT is the upscaling and interconnecting of these efforts: as a collaborative team we want to join our networks and expertises together, and work with champions in partner organisations to help ensure that critical climate responses in energy, cities, and regional landscapes are comprehensive, large-scale, and good for both nature and people.
